Stroke

Since they were introduced in 2001 and 2006, Yaz and Yasmin have been two of the most popular forms of birth control for young women. Recently, however, the drugs have been linked to increased risks of blood clots, which can cause serious conditions like Yaz stroke or pulmonary embolism.

A stroke occurs when a blood clot or damaged blood vessel in an artery blocks or restricts the flow of fresh blood to the brain. This can cut off much-needed oxygen to brain cells, causing damage or cell death. Strokes often result in brain damage, loss of bodily function, or even death.

In order to limit the effects of a stroke, it’s very important that a patient receive medical attention as soon as possible. Some of the common symptoms to look for in a Yaz Stroke include:

  • Acute numbness in the face or weakness in an arm or leg.
  • Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding.
  • Sudden vision problems in one or both eyes.
  • Sudden onset of a severe headache.
  • Disorientation, dizziness, balance problems or trouble walking.

Because Bayer pharmaceuticals failed to properly warn women of the risks of Yaz, experts fear that thousands or more may have suffered a Yaz stroke. Those affected have the legal right to seek recovery.

If you or a loved one took Yaz and suffered a blood clot or stroke, you may be entitled to substantial compensation from a Yaz settlement. Contact us today to speak with a lawyer, as time is limited.

Strokes now rank as the third leading cause of death in America and second leading cause of death worldwide. They are also a leading cause of long term disability. The effects can range from weakness in an extremity to full paralyzation or loss of speech.

Researchers have related the risk of stroke to aging, lack of physical activity, smoking and poor nutrition. However, certain medications like Yaz have been linked to blood clots, which can also increase the risk of stroke.

In the past decade, scientists in America and Europe have discovered that the chemical drospirenone, an active ingredient in Yaz, is associated with increased potassium in the blood. This can raise the risk of blood clots by as much as 75% according to FDA studies.

Since 2008, at least five studies have shown a relation between the active ingredient in Yaz and blood clots, which can cause a Yaz Stroke.

Lawyers have helped thousands of women who’ve suffered from drug side effects, and are now helping those injured by Yaz recover. These same lawyers can discuss your case today to let you know how much it may be worth and how long you have to act.

Drug injury lawsuits can be very complex legal matters. Make sure you are working with a lawyer who has experience with this type of case. The Yaz Risks Center only recommends lawyers and law firms that have already settled Yaz lawsuits.

Contact us today for more information on the side effects and litigation surrounding Yaz. We are available 24 hours a day to answer questions and provide help.
